About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Account Manager to own strategic client relationships and lead the delivery of exceptional benefits consulting. This role is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on execution with strategic consulting—serving as a trusted advisor who leads renewals, navigates complex benefits challenges, and delivers innovative solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.

What You'll Do
Client Leadership & Strategy
Lead a portfolio of 20-40 complex clients through the full benefits lifecycle—from renewal strategy and carrier negotiation to compliance management and open enrollment. Design innovative solutions informed by data and market trends, foster executive-level relationships, and serve as the trusted advisor.
Execution & Deliverables
Develop and present strategic deliverables, including renewal presentations, financial reporting, member education, and compliance management. Collaborate cross-functionally to leverage technology, streamline workflows, and enhance client experience.
Team Development & Innovation
Mentor Account Managers through active coaching and knowledge sharing. Partner with leadership to refine workflows, implement process improvements, and drive service delivery excellence.
What You'll Bring
Foundation: 7+ years benefits consulting experience | 5+ years independently managing accounts | Active life & health insurance license | Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Expertise: Deep knowledge of benefit products, funding structures, and compliance | Proficient with benefits platforms and AI/automation tools | Strong analytical and financial acumen
Capabilities: Strategic consulting and problem-solving | Exceptional communication (executive presentations, public speaking) | Executive relationship building with track record of retention | Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy | Self-motivated with strong independent judgment | Mentorship and informal leadership | Adaptability and enthusiasm for innovation | Spanish fluency is a big plus
This is a remote position but preferred candidates will be based in San Francisco or the surrounding area and bring recent experience supporting California-based employer groups of 50-500 employees.
