Udacity is looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Content Engineering team. You will work to advance our AI-assisted content development capabilities with an initial focus on internationalization. You will gain experience with using LLMs in production at scale, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the learner experience for our global user base.
This role is ideal for engineers who genuinely love building impactful AI solutions and wrangling LLMs, and who thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain robust, scalable AI content tools, agents, evals and api integrations for generative text, images and video.
● Design and implement reliable backend services using Go and internal AI tools using Python, ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability.
● Collaborate closely with product managers, AI researchers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver exceptional localization solutions.
Qualifications:
● 5+ years backend engineering experience with Go / Python and relational databases.
● Experience with LLMs in production: prompt and context engineering and writing evals. Experience with AI development tools (e.g. Claude Code / Cursor).
● Passionate about creating user-centric solutions.
Preferred:
● Prior experience working on localization or internationalization projects. Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud).
● Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Compensation: The maximum base pay for this position is $165,000, depending on experience and location.
