We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Research & Data Scientist  to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Senior Analyst, Research & Data Scientist plays a critical role in advancing healthcare outcomes by leveraging data-driven insights and rigorous research methodologies. This position is responsible for designing, conducting, and interpreting complex analyses that inform strategic decisions and policy development within the health care and social assistance sector. The role requires synthesizing large datasets from diverse sources to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and support evidence-based interventions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, policy makers, and IT professionals, is essential to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations. Ultimately, this position drives innovation and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery through sophisticated data science techniques and research excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, research, or data science within the healthcare or social assistance industry.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large healthcare datasets and apply advanced analytical techniques.
  • Strong experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply statistical and machine learning models.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline such as Biostatistics, Health Informatics, or Data Science.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and big data technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, Spark).
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards including HIPAA and data governance best practices.
  • Prior experience working in interdisciplinary teams within healthcare settings.
  • Publication record or contributions to peer-reviewed research in healthcare analytics or related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze healthcare data and generate predictive insights.
  • Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies to evaluate health programs, policies, and interventions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define research questions, data requirements, and project objectives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations while managing large and complex datasets.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science, healthcare analytics, and research methodologies.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of data science capabilities within the team.
