Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting and Analysis will support the Medicare Supplement business by delivering accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting. This role is integral to the monthly and quarterly close processes, balance sheet analysis, statutory (STAT) reporting, and internal and external audits. The position partners closely with Finance and Actuarial teams and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, control preparation, and delivery of financial reports to business partners.
  • Support quarter-end close activities, including STAT reporting and serving as a liaison for audit requests.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency by reducing manual processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance and Actuarial teams to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in financial reporting.
  • Support system enhancements and finance transformation initiatives, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel with intermediate to advanced skills (e.g., lookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or insurance.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and STAT reporting.
  • Experience with large financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Excel4Apps).
  • Prior experience supporting balance sheet accounts and/or STAT reporting.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
