This position plays a key role in supporting the transformation of the Advisor Compensation practices at LPL through process design, technology builds, and change management activities. The level of support across these areas will vary based on business need and the analyst must be self-motivated and have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. This role will require the individual to possess strong organization and analytical skills to contribute to project initiatives for Client Compensation, lead process analysis/redesign efforts, and support other high impact activities. The analyst must be able to effectively communicate with others and balance workload in a dynamic environment to ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as subject matter expert, especially in the areas of business requirements

  • Participate in discussions with business and technical process owners, challenge the status quo, and offer alternative viewpoints to build the best solution

  • Provide data definitions and verify Compensation data quality

  • Gather data requirements needed for data mapping and performing accurate Compensation calculations

  • Provide feedback on Comp Data Architecture design

  • Validate Reference Data used by the Varicent Compensation engine

  • Work with QA to validate and test data requirements

  • Query databases, create data driven insights, and develop them into actionable initiatives to improve the Client Experience and Employee Experience

  • Present data driven findings to senior leaders at the firm

  • Perform intermediate SQL Code review and analysis

  • Create process mapping workflows

  • Partner with multiple teams to triage and troubleshoot defects by performing root cause analysis and propose solutions

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing efforts in coordination with our Technology QA Team and in support of control objectives

  • Partner in the development and execution of change management activities for frontline business teams

  • Maintain an understanding of the active working pipeline and obtain priorities of the change requests for given work stream backlog

Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, process management, or operations

  • 5+ years' experience in process optimization, operations, or business management

Core Competencies:

  • Experience with one of Varicent, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or similar programming languages

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools

  • A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes

  • Intellectually curious, with a strategic and analytical mindset

  • Leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills needed to influence customers and team members

  • Strong process flow documentation skills (i.e. Lucid or similar tool)

  • Expert communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to present materials to the highest levels in the organization

  • Experience querying large data sets for actionable insights

Preferences:

  • FINRA licenses and Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge in process improvement methodology (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma)

  • Experience with regulatory controls and audits (SOX, SSAE16, etc.)

Pay Range:

$67,988-$113,313/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
