• We’re looking for a Senior AI-Native Software Engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with genuinely AI-native development practices.
  
• AI-assisted development isn’t an experiment or a side project here. It’s becoming part of how great software gets planned, architected, built, tested, verified, documented, monitored, and shipped.
  
• If Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or similar AI development tools already feel like a natural extension of how you work—but you also know that “the AI said it works” is definitely not a testing strategy—you’ll probably enjoy this one.
  
• You’ll take work from ticket → plan → implementation → verification → PR → production, using AI to create genuine engineering leverage without outsourcing your engineering judgment to it.
  
• That means knowing how to work with agents, context, automation, and AI-assisted workflows—and knowing when an AI-generated answer needs to be challenged, corrected, or replaced by a human one.
  

• Build, maintain, test, and support production software applications.
  
• Use Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or similar AI-assisted development tools as part of daily engineering workflows.
  
• Own delivery from ticket → plan → implementation → verification → pull request → production.
  
• Plan and validate technical approaches before generating implementation code.
  
• Maintain project context files such as CLAUDE.md, reusable prompts, skills, and engineering conventions.
  
• Build and maintain workflows involving AI agents, MCP servers, subagents, hooks, and headless or CI-run agents.
  
• Connect AI agents with development tools, databases, and engineering workflows.
  
• Review AI-generated code for incorrect assumptions, invented APIs, security issues, and inadequate tests.
  
• Build meaningful unit and integration tests against actual acceptance criteria, including edge cases.
  
• Apply Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and core design patterns where appropriate.
  
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query tuning, and migrations.
  
• Build and support services in AWS or Azure environments.
  
• Implement and use structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and meaningful alerting to diagnose production issues.
  
• Create and maintain design notes, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), API documentation, release notes, and runbooks.
  
• Build AI-driven automation for repetitive engineering and operational processes using tools such as n8n or Zapier.
  
• Integrate applications with third-party APIs and services.
  
• Contribute to technical planning, estimation, and software delivery.
  
• Protect sensitive information when using AI tools, including secrets, customer PII, and payment/card data.
  
• Apply appropriate access scoping and security practices when connecting AI agents to systems and data.
  
• Identify technical, security, privacy, and delivery risks early.
  
• Own software through deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
  
• Share effective AI-assisted engineering patterns and help standardize workflows across the engineering team.
  
• Coach and mentor engineers on responsible and effective AI adoption.
  

• 5–7+ years of commercial software engineering experience, including experience operating at Senior Software Engineer level.
  
• Strong commercial experience with .NET / C# and/or React / Next.js.
  
• Production experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
  
• Database experience covering schema design, query tuning, and migrations.
  
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, including deploying, running, and troubleshooting services.
  
• Experience with Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and core software design patterns.
  
• Professional experience actively using Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
  
• Experience incorporating AI-assisted development into structured software engineering workflows.
  
• Experience with AI-assisted testing, code review, documentation, and automation.
  
• Strong unit and integration testing practices, including verification against acceptance criteria.
  
• Experience with GitHub and Jira or equivalent software delivery workflows.
  
• Experience with production observability, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting.
  
• Strong technical documentation skills, including design notes, ADRs, API documentation, and runbooks.
  
• Experience contributing to planning, estimation, and delivery.
  
• Experience owning software through development, deployment, and production support.
  
• Understanding of security and privacy requirements when using AI tools with sensitive information.
  
• Ability to explain architectural decisions and technical trade-offs clearly.
  
• Ability to mentor engineers and support adoption of effective AI development practices.
  
• Ability to work consistently during AEST business hours.
  

• Experience with MCP servers.
  
• Experience with AI subagents and hooks.
  
• Experience with headless or CI-run AI agents.
  
• Experience with context engineering, including project context files such as CLAUDE.md.
  
• Experience creating reusable AI prompts, skills, and engineering conventions.
  
• Experience connecting AI agents with Jira, GitHub, databases, and development workflows.
