The Senior Accountant will handle revenue recognition, oversee billing operations, support month-end closes, and collaborate with various departments, ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements.
Senior Accountant:
This position is responsible for handling revenue recognition and daily billing operations for new and existing services. This position will have significant cross-departmental collaboration with the Receivables, Sales Operations, Legal, and Finance teams daily.
This Senior Accountant role will require the ability to drive change and contribute to automation initiatives of manual processes to produce consistent, timely and accurate invoices and reporting. P&L experience will prove integral to this role, especially for M&A.
This role will be remote, and the position would require the ability to work M-F 9am-6pm and later hours during the month-end close period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and record revenue-related journal entries based on detailed analysis of underlying transactions and supporting data
- Reconcile sub-ledger activity to general ledger balances and investigate and resolve variances
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze income statement and budget-to-actual variances
- Partner with internal and external auditors to support audits and ensure compliance with public company reporting requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Financial Operations, Internal Audit, and Legal to support financial reporting and operational initiatives
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3–6 years of progressive accounting or billing operations experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment
- Public accounting and/or U.S. technical accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting processes
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion Cloud and CRM platforms such as Salesforce a plus

Compensation Range
Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $82,500 to $92,500. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
