What is the Senior Accountant role?
As a member of our finance team, you’ll play a key role in building our corporate accounting processes, systems, and policies from the ground up. You will be responsible for owning a broad array of accounting activities and monthly close tasks including, but not limited to, revenue recognition, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and payroll. You will also be collaborating on system and process optimization projects and supporting the Senior Accounting Manager in enhancing the Company's existing accounting infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with the Senior Accounting Manager to drive month, quarter, and year-end close processes
- Owning key accounting processes and financial operations, including but not limited to revenue recognition, payroll, corporate tax compliance, and annual report filings
- Developing and documenting core accounting policies for the company, and be a key player in preparing the company for a first year financial statement audit
- Serving as the primary contact for the company’s 401k audit(s), providing auditors with support as requested
- Preparing bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Working with the Senior Accounting Manager to build, document, and implement internal controls
- Partnering with teams across the business to provide operational support and ensure timely, accurate, and value-additive financial reporting
- Working on ad-hoc accounting and finance projects such as selecting and deploying new tools and systems
What you’ll bring
- 5 or more years of relevant accounting work experience (required) with 3 or more years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting
- Active CPA (preferred) or eligibility to obtain CPA license (required)
- An instinct for process improvement
- Technical accounting experience, particularly relating to ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 805 is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Quickbooks experience
- Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365, Netsuite or similar) implementation is a plus
- Prior experience with high-growth startups
- Excellent communication skills - particularly in writing and relationship building
- Collaborative style and ability to work with cross functional teams
- Proven ability to execute and optimize complex operational initiatives
