Senior Accountant

Please Note: This is a remote position available in the state listed on this job. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check. 

Essential Job Duties

As a Senior Accountant at BambooHR, your work will contribute to an accounting environment that continues to increase in complexity as our business grows. In the day to day, you’ll assist with managing accrual accounting, technical accounting and memos, and other accounting and internal control initiatives. Now on to a few more specifics. In the day to day of your role, you will focus on:

Accounts Payable: 

• Review and monitor the accounts payable process using Coupa
• Manage reimbursements and corporate card program using Brex
• Calculate and pay affiliate commissions

Financial Accounting:

• Manage fixed assets process
• Prepare general ledger entries and review and reconcile various general ledger accounts through NetSuite
• Research and recommend accounting treatment for revenue recognition under ASC 606 for new revenue streams or contracting models

Management Accounting:

• Participate in financial data analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes

Tax Accounting:

• Assist with tax return information requests and respond to tax notices
• Perform monthly use tax calculations
• Assist in the monthly sales tax return review and reconciliation process

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• You have 3+ years of experience in public accounting, or 5+ years of experience in a non-public accounting role
• You have earned (or are currently actively pursuing) your CPA 
• You have advanced Excel skills, with a high comfort level in areas like complex formulas, pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
• You have exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and high accuracy
• You have a history of successfully managing a variety of tasks and meeting deadlines in prior roles 
• **While this role is primarily remote-friendly, we have a strong preference for candidates who are located in Utah.
