WHAT OUR SECURITY ENGINEER IV ENJOY MOST
- Solving complex, meaningful problems with minimal oversight while scripting and automation future proofing.
- Collaborating with talented teammates on enterprise-wide security efforts.
- Creating real impact in critical areas such as digital certificates, multi-factor authentication, and encryption.
- Leading both current and future compliance efforts and developing technical documentation for systems, upgrades, and service integrations.
- Ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures.
- Provides on-call support to help resolve security application issues and/or outages after normal business hours.
- Uses established change management processes, requiring operational procedures be performed with minimal customer impact within approved maintenance windows.
- Develops security requirements for new projects and performs the security testing prior to going into production.
- Designs and implements change and control policies and disaster recovery plans; lead troubleshooting efforts to restore functionality in the event of outages.
- Monitors and assists in managing our security applications availability, reliability and performance by leveraging SIEM tools like Splunk or raw logs.
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5+) years of IT/network experience
- Minimum five (5+) years of Information security experience
- Minimum four (4+) years of Information security operations experience
Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
- Must be a strong problem solver with process focus, able to manage competing priorities and adapt to rapid change
- Must understand Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as PCI, SOX, HIPAA, NIST SP 800-53 and/or SP 1800-16
- Operating Systems (OS) security and configuration (Linux and Microsoft environments)
- Networking concepts, IP addressing, system hardening (CIS baselines)
- Effective security tools creation and automation using PowerShell or Python
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to work across functional boundaries, build consensus and drive results
- Demonstrated experience in managing information security events and incidents for large and sophisticated networks
- Strong documentation and technical design principles

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of Identity Security Engineering experience supporting:
- Encryption and multi-factor authentication technologies.
- Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM): Experience with enterprise-grade solutions, preferably Venafi or equivalent platforms.
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): Strong background in PKI Administration, ideally Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS).
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Hands-on experience supporting MFA technologies, preferably Broadcom - Symantec VIP.
- SaaS Security: Familiarity with securing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications.
- Administrative Skills: Proven capability in managing identity and security-related infrastructure.
- Linux/Microsoft OS and application engineering and operations experience including, but not limited to, installation and implementation, patching and package installs, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Experience writing scripts in PowerShell and one other scripting language
- Experience guiding or leading Security Engineers is desirable.
