eHealth is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our engineering team. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through the design, development, and execution of automated test suites. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, quality assurance engineers, and product managers to identify test requirements, develop test strategies, and implement test automation solutions.
What you'll do:
- Test complex API, and web-based applications that reference database back-end systems.
- Reproduce, debug, and isolate problems and verifies fixes.
- Work closely with software developers to create software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
- Design, create, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.
- Design and implement automated testing processes and tools for software products.
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure testability and maintainability of code throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the engineering teams to drive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
- Identify and prioritize test cases for automation based on risk, complexity, and frequency of use.
- Execute automated tests and analyze test results to identify defects, performance bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and drive resolution of defects.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience as either a Software Development Engineer or (SDET) Software Development Engineer in Test role
- Proficient in software development using programming languages such as Javascript, Java, Python, C#, or similar.
- SQL/DB, proficiency in writing basic SQL queries using joins and aggregate functions
- Experience designing and developing automated test frameworks and test suites using tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Experience with ZenQA, Testify, or Q-Anium QA automation tools is a strong plus
- Experience in CI/CD processes.
- Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong interest in problem-solving skills and attention to detail through hands-on learning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
This person will be required to work PST hours including some evening hours to collaborate with offshore team in China.

The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors including individual skills, experience, performance, qualifications, the department budget, and the location where work is performed.
