We seek a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Director to help transform our Quality Engineering organization, lead testing efforts and ensure product quality. You will oversee multiple teams, drive testing activities, and manage strategic direction. This senior role demands technical expertise to optimize testing processes and design innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead and Manage Teams: Build and support a high-performing software quality team. Oversee the SDET team, mentor managers, assess performance, and hire talented engineers.
- Drive Strategy and Initiatives: Be the catalyst for improved quality outcomes. Shape the strategic direction of scrum teams and drive quality engineering innovation while continuing to deliver value to our customers. Help set the direction for using GenAI to revolutionize the Quality Engineering organization, including tool evaluation, change management and reskilling.
- Oversee Quality & Technical Execution: Manage quality projects, design test solutions, enhance QE tools, and ensure test coverage.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrate testing into development, and communicate updates. Lead strategy discussions with peers and executive leaders.
- Monitor and Analyze Metrics: Track SCRUM team progress and analyze quality metrics. Leverage data to identify quality gaps and implement strategic actions to enhance and optimize test processes.
- Drive Release Activities: Ensure high-confidence release signoff, adhering to Litera standards. Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in technology, with at least 5 years in engineering and management roles. Experience in SaaS solutions, agile methodologies, and multi-disciplinary teams simultaneously working on multiple projects.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience utilizing GenAI tools to drive efficiency is required. Proficient in test automation, performance testing, web and backend API services testing, DevOps CI/CD principles, and programming languages like C#, Java, Python. Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps and Playwright is preferred.
- Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership, collaboration, customer service, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work with global stakeholders in a matrix environment. Comfortable interacting with and presenting to C-level executives. Thrive in a fast-changing environment while being execution-oriented, hands-on, pragmatic, and results-focused.
