Armstrong’s R&D Project Number 54013, developed by three innovators, evolved into ArmaFlex, the world's first flexible, closed-cell elastomeric foam for equipment insulation. This product revolutionized the insulation industry. Today, more than 70 years later, ArmaFlex continues to be a pillar of Armacell's success.

The SAP Solution Architect – Manufacturing & Supply Chain is an individual contributor supporting SAP solutions and delivery across Armacell’s Americas region. The role combines deep, hands-on SAP expertise in Manufacturing and Supply Chain with regional coordination of SAP initiatives across the United States, Canada and Brazil.

Approximately 60% of the role is focused on hands-on SAP solution expertise, primarily across EWM, PP/PP-PI, MM and related manufacturing and logistics processes. The remaining 40% focuses on regional SAP delivery coordination, including S/4HANA rollout activities and cross-functional SAP initiatives.

Working within Armacell’s global SAP template, this position partners closely with the global SAP team, process owners, Key Users and regional business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions, resolve complex SAP issues and support successful SAP deployments throughout the Americas.

The role reports to the Head of Group IT Applications & Services, based at Armacell’s corporate headquarters in Luxembourg.

This position may be based in Mebane or Charlotte, North Carolina. Hybrid work is possible; however, regular onsite presence in Mebane and other Americas manufacturing locations is expected. Travel of up to 30% across the United States, Canada and Brazil, as well as approximately one to two trips to Europe annually, is required.

  • Healthcare benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, and mental health and wellbeing resources.
  • Financial programs including 401(k), life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and opportunities for performance-based incentive compensation.
  • Paid time off including 12 holidays and generous PTO.

Job Responsibilities

SAP Solution Expertise – Approximately 60%

  • Design, configure, test, troubleshoot and document SAP EWM, PP/PP-PI and related manufacturing and logistics solutions within Armacell’s global SAP template.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex or recurring SAP issues at the root cause using configuration, application logs, interface queues, master data, authorizations and process analysis.
  • Own SAP-side solution design and troubleshooting for shop-floor/MES, RF/barcode and production-data interfaces, implementing sustainable solutions rather than recurring workarounds.
  • Provide expert SAP support across warehouse operations, inventory, manufacturing and outbound logistics where configuration, integration or solution changes are required beyond routine transactional support.
  • Provide hands-on SAP expertise throughout S/4HANA implementations and rollouts, including fit-gap analysis, solution design, integration testing, defect resolution, cutover and hypercare.
  • Partner with Key Users and business stakeholders to support UAT, business-data readiness and successful adoption of new SAP functionality.

Regional SAP Delivery – Approximately 40%

  • Coordinate SAP initiatives and projects across the Americas, including FI/CO, SD and cross-functional topics outside the core Manufacturing and Supply Chain scope.
  • Maintain a prioritized regional SAP delivery pipeline with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, ownership, budget and status.
  • Bring together regional stakeholders, global SAP experts, process owners, Key Users and external partners throughout project delivery and hypercare, escalating risks and blockers as appropriate.
  • Support and coordinate regional S/4HANA rollout activities across the Americas, including readiness, deployment and hypercare, in close collaboration with regional stakeholders and the global S/4HANA program and in alignment with global templates, roadmaps and governance.
  • Engage with senior regional business stakeholders to align SAP priorities, expectations and delivery decisions.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP functional configuration, implementation and support experience. This position requires significant hands-on functional expertise and is not intended for coordination-only or project-management profiles.
  • Deep hands-on SAP EWM expertise, strong SAP PP/PP-PI capability, and solid SAP MM and end-to-end logistics integration knowledge across inventory, deliveries and shipping.
  • Practical shop-floor and MES integration experience, including interface analysis, reprocessing and permanent remediation.
  • Meaningful S/4HANA implementation, rollout or transformation experience, ideally within a governed global SAP template.
  • Demonstrated SAP project delivery and stakeholder-management experience across multiple workstreams, functions and geographies.
  • Ability to work effectively within a global organization while representing regional business and technology requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP certification in EWM, PP/PP-PI and/or MM.
  • Manufacturing industry experience within a multi-site environment.
