We are looking for an experienced SAP-Azure Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP systems, data engineering, cloud computing, and advanced analytics. This role focuses on leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and other cloud-native technologies to develop scalable and efficient data solutions for business intelligence and advanced analytics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data engineering pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics and Databricks to support data warehousing and advanced analytics.
  • Develop interactive and informative dashboards and reports using Power BI for business decision-making.
  • Implement data integration, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality and consistency across platforms.
  • Migrate and integrate data from SAP systems (SAP ECC, BPC, APO, SAP BI) to cloud-based environments and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide data-driven solutions for business needs.
  • Apply machine learning frameworks and tools for predictive analytics and data science projects.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices are followed throughout all data processes.
  • Manage and optimize data lake and data warehousing solutions to support efficient data processing and storage.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • SAP Expertise: Strong proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, BPC, BW/4HANA, and other relevant SAP modules.
  • Data Management and Analytics: Experience with data migration, cleansing, and analysis using tools like SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar.
  • Integration Skills: Understanding of integration technologies (e.g., APIs, middleware) to connect different systems within the SAP landscape.
  • Cloud Computing: Expertise in cloud platforms (especially Azure), including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
  • Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Scala, SQL, ABAP, or R for customization and automation.
  • Data Engineering: Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lake concepts.
  • Advanced Analytics: Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and data science techniques.

Functional Skills:

  • Business Process Understanding: Strong knowledge of finance, supply chain, and other relevant business processes within an organization.
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex IT projects, including planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Change Management: Ability to lead organizational change and drive user adoption of new systems.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and resolve technical and business challenges.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills (English C1 required) to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Certifications in Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or related technologies.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of cloud-native data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Apache Kafka).
  • Experience with data science and machine learning techniques.

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, SAP systems, and cloud-based data solutions.
  • Proven experience in Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, SAP ECC, BPC, APO, and SAP BI integration.
