We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to manage sample logistics, shipping/receiving operations, and inventory control across UL's RTP and Morrisville sites. This role supports lab operations by ensuring timely and accurate handling of samples, equipment, and supplies, with opportunities for growth within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, check in, and track samples using UL's sample management system.
- Prepare samples for return shipment, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.), including international and hazardous materials (e.g., batteries).
- Maintain organization of the sample room and test equipment storage.
- Manage calibration logistics: notify staff, schedule with calibration labs, arrange shipments, update databases, and return equipment to service.
- Handle transfers between RTP and Morrisville sites using UL's fleet vehicle.
- Pack/unpack various items including lab equipment, office supplies, and furniture.
- Record and track inventory using purchase orders, receiving reports, and disposal records.
- Train or assist other team members as directed.
- Follow UL's Code of Conduct and all physical/digital security protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, or sample handling.
- Basic proficiency in Excel and email communication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
- Physical ability to lift and move items (with assistance when needed).
- Valid driver's license for local transport between sites.
- Willingness to complete paid Hazmat training.
