WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:

We are seeking a Salesforce Solution Architect to serve as a technical leader, playing a central role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Salesforce solutions that support all our Biomedical Services business.

This role partners closely with business stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, product teams, and developers to align technology strategy with business objectives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally efficient. The Solution Architect will provide both strategic architectural leadership and hands-on technical guidance, actively participating in solution design, technical reviews, and complex problem-solving while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.

Leveraging deep Salesforce expertise and architectural experience, you will design and govern solutions that are maintainable, extensible, and capable of supporting evolving business needs. You will also stay current with emerging Salesforce capabilities and industry trends, helping drive innovation and maximize the value of the Salesforce platform.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States but must work an east coast schedule. The position requires approximately 10% travel for leadership meetings, product roadmap planning sessions, and key stakeholder engagements.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

•    Lead the architecture and optimization of Salesforce solutions across three Biomedical services products
•    Lead engineering best practices by establishing reusable design patterns, coding standards, architectural guardrails, and technical quality reviews to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt.
•    Partner with solution, integration, and cross-functional technology teams to develop scalable end-to-end solutions and ensure seamless integration across enterprise platforms.
•    Establishing and controlling technical definitions, rules, principles, and standards for teams
•    Assessing, reviewing and decisioning on all solution architecture designs
•    Delivering compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, environment management plan, development policy and participate in requirements-gathering workshops to influence the strategic direction of projects and lead business through solution design  
•    Partnering end-to-end with Product Managers / Owners, Business Stakeholders and business analysts to understand customer requirements and process flows and translate them into Salesforce technology solutions
•    Own architecture documentation including solution blueprints, integration designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical standards.
•    Translate business capabilities into scalable technical architectures and provide implementation guidance to engineering teams.
•    Develop proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate architectural approaches and accelerate delivery.
•    Provide hands-on technical involvement selectively to validate architecture and address complex design challenges
•    Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and Salesforce platform innovations, to enhance business capabilities and drive continuous innovation.
•    Provide thought leadership in applying technology to transform our service delivery.
•    Stay up-to-date with Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements.
•    Drive architectural decisions across multiple teams. Present architecture decisions and roadmaps to senior leadership
•    Mentor senior developers and technical leads through architecture reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
•    Designing solutions with operational monitoring, observability, logging, and production support considerations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

•    Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
•    10+ years of hands-on experience in Salesforce development and architecture
•    Expert level understanding of the Salesforce product Suite
•    Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture and code development for Sales, Service and Experience cloud
•    Strong prior development/Salesforce coding experience to be able to advise on aspects such as refactoring of code to reduce tech debt and code design patterns
•    Experience designing and delivering end-to-end Salesforce solutions for large, complex implementations
•    Experience leading solutions design sessions, ability to ask hard questions during those sessions and suggest best practices and efficient ways of implementing business processes
•    Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce development and configuration, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, APIs, platform events, batch processing, and integrations
•    Ability to define system landscape, identify gaps between current and desired future state
•    Understanding of Salesforce architecture, ability to design scalable solutions utilizing industry best practices
•    Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
•    Strong understanding and experience with Salesforce environment management, release management, deployment tools, code versioning best practices and deployment methodologies
•    Understanding of data sharing and visibility considerations and how they play into platform architecture
•    Strong analytical thinking and communication skills with the ability to rapidly learn complex business and product domains, collaborate across teams, and confidently drive alignment and decision-making

•    Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect certification required. 
 

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Strong experience in integrating Salesforce with external systems, including third-party applications and data warehouses, using integration tools such as MuleSoft

  • Experience with Data 360 and Agentforce is highly preferred.

  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification

  • Strong experience in Agile delivery environments is required, SAFe experience with is a plus.

  • Knowledge of AppExchange products such as Appinium and Skedulo is highly preferred

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

PAY INFORMATION:
The annual salary range for this position is $165K - $180K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.
Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**
This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
