JOB TITLE:                           Sales Manager

REPORTS TO (Title):            VP of Sales

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager is primarily responsible for working with the Sales Team to help in building relationships with support in sales activities. This role will also be responsible for leading and participating in strategic account discussions as well as contract and pricing strategy, working directly with the VP of Sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for supporting the development of new business in order to contribute to the ongoing growth of MegaCorp Logistics.
  • Works with the Account Managers in building relationships, and monitoring sales activity.
  • Supports the Account Managers in developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
  • Advises the Account Managers in sales tactics and progress.
  • Supports the Account Managers in researching, analyzing, negotiating and agreeing to fixed-rate contracts as appropriate for MegaCorp’s business.
  • Manage day-to-day sales and operations on the Sales floor.
  • Promote MegaCorp’s business through participation in relevant associations and conventions.
  • Provide guidance and training to the Division team as required.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1 year experience building and managing a book of business in logistics required
  • 1-3 years managing a logistics sales floor required
  • 1-3 years freight brokerage experience required

COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Willing and able to be on call as required.
  • Ability to learn quickly, analyze situations and make decisions which support the ongoing success of MegaCorp.

 

Job Requirements:

  • This is an in office role. M-F 8am - 5pm 
  • less than 10% travel per month, as needed to accommodate business

Compensation Package:

  • Starting salary at $100,000 plus monthly bonus based on sales performance
