Ideal candidates will have a proven record in digital strategy and sales, new business development, creating and selling new sponsorship initiatives, and experience selling high profile sports like NFL, NASCAR, and MLB.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for your own digital and broadcast sales team
- Recruit, Hire, and Coach a high performing sales team and hold the sales department to high standards of performance
- Develop and execute sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in Local, Digital, New Business, Sponsorships
- Work with Director of Sales to determine inventory and pricing strategies to increase ROI on Queen City News’ suite of digital and linear products
- Lead accounts receivable efforts of the sales team
- Create value and position pieces based on Queen City News successes and trends
- Actively participate in networking and charitable organizations in the community
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum 3 years of experience in media sales
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work under strict deadlines with impeccable attention to detail
- Proficiency with WideOrbit, ComScore, Nielsen, Matrix, or a similar CRM as well as Excel, Word and other various business and broadcast software programs
