Forbes is seeking a commercially minded Sales Manager to join our Accolades team.  This role will report directly to the VP of Sales & Operations within the Accolades team.  In this role you will serve as a key member of our team focusing on business development and monetization of Forbes Lists and Rankings through digital permissions and award logo programs.  You will be responsible for driving revenue by identifying market opportunities and managing the end-to-end sales and contract lifecycle without direct involvement in the editorial process.  The ideal candidate is a "closer" who understands the value of Forbes' brand authority and has the skills to help scale our content licensing business.
New York/Tri-State Area Candidates within travel distance of our Jersey City office are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Revenue Generation: Own and drive a robust pipeline of licensing opportunities; proactively identify and pitch brand partners who can benefit from our established accolades and content.
  • Commercial Strategy: Analyze trends and internal performance data to identify high-value Enterprise Opportunities.
  • Contract & Rights Negotiation: Lead negotiations on licensing terms, usage rights, and renewals, ensuring all agreements protect the company's brand reputation and maximize revenue.
  • Business Operations Liaison: Coordinate closely with Management, Accolades Support Team, Legal and Finance to ensure contracts are executed correctly and revenue is accurately tracked and invoiced.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the fulfillment of licensing deals, working with Marketing and Creative teams to deliver approved assets (award seals, logos, PDFs) to clients.
  • CRM & Data Integrity: Maintain accuracy in Salesforce; track lead stages, contract expiration dates, and revenue forecasting to provide clear visibility to leadership.
The ideal candidate
  • Professional Experience: 4–6 years of experience in content licensing, affiliate operations, digital media, or equivalent.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to extract insights from sales and performance data (Excel/Google Sheets) and turn them into actionable outbound strategies.
  • Tech Stack Proficiency: Proven experience with CRM tools (Salesforce). Familiarity with Shopify or BI tools like Looker is a plus.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Marketing, and externally with brand partners.
  • Organizational Rigor: Highly organized with a process-oriented mindset and strict attention to detail regarding contract language and asset usage.
  • Self-Starter: A results-oriented professional who can drive work forward and hit revenue targets with minimal oversight.

The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000

This said, we may have to make changes to our compensation estimates and job descriptions from time to time and we expressly reserve the right to do so.  Should we make any such changes, this advertisement will be revised to reflect such revisions.  We encourage you to occasionally re-visit this advertisement to ensure that you are abreast of any changes.  Thank you for your interest in joining Forbes!
