About Rumi

Rumi helps institutions focus on learning outcomes—not just outputs—by enabling responsible AI use in the classroom. Our assignment-level AI policy framework supports both independent work and collaboration while preserving academic integrity.

The role

As Lead of Sales for Higher Education, you’ll partner with colleges and universities to address academic integrity and AI literacy. You’ll engage Deans, Provosts, department leadership, teaching/learning centers, and instructional designers to show how Rumi improves the writing and research experience for faculty and students.

What you’ll do
  • Build and close a Higher Ed pipeline across mid-market and enterprise institutions

  • Run consultative discovery, demos, and pilot programs tied to clear success metrics

  • Navigate complex stakeholder groups (academic leadership, IT/security, faculty champions)

  • Create compelling institutional narratives: integrity + learning + responsible AI adoption

  • Collaborate closely with product to shape features, integrations, and onboarding

What we’re looking for
  • Strong experience in Higher Ed enterprise sales (multi-stakeholder, longer cycles)

  • Comfort selling to academic leadership with a pedagogical, faculty-aware approach

  • Strong written and verbal communication; you can lead a room and win trust

  • Self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments

Nice to have
  • Experience with edtech platforms, LMS ecosystems, or academic integrity tooling

Benefits
  • Competitive salary

  • Comprehensive health insurance

  • 15 days PTO annually

  • Flexible working hours

  • Redwood City office (in-person preferred; remote possible)

  • Professional development support
