We are looking for a Quantum Sales Executive focused on the Financial Services industry to join our US Go-To-Market team. The team's mission is to bring IonQ’s offering, including Quantum Hardware (Systems and Networks), Software, Applications, and Access, to a curated set of clients and partners in the Financial Services Industry (FSI). We need someone exceptionally skilled at developing new business and clients and generating revenue for IonQ. This is an individual contributor role with the potential to build a team down the road.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a pipeline of sales opportunities for IonQ’s Quantum Computers, Networks, Applications and Access.
- Qualify the opportunities based on budget availability, skills, interest, executive commitment, and timing.
- Form proposals for access to IonQ’s system via the cloud, as a remote dedicated system, or an “on-prem” dedicated system. Take into consideration local restrictions and customs.
- Negotiate agreements and close business.
- Drive customer satisfaction, bringing attention to the broader team for any inhibitors or concerns related to the relationship
You’d be a good fit with:
- An undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering, Math, Computer Science or another relevant technical field (STEM).
- Minimum of 10-years experience in Sales/Business Development with quota carrying responsibilities.
- Existing relationships within Fortune 100 Financial Services Institutions (Banking, Capital Markets, Payments and Insurance).
You’d be a great fit with:
- Existing senior-level relationships (CTO, CIO, BU Head, CXO) within the FS industry with proven ability to sell multi-million dollar deals.
- Knowledge in Quantum Computing Platforms, Algorithms, Applications (AI/ML at minimum)
- Experience in category creation selling i.e. creating compelling approaches to sell solutions that are not usually a named category in customer budgets
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the business drivers and use of technology in Financial Services
- Experience selling IT Hardware infrastructure products/solutions to the FSI industry.
- Proven negotiating skills
Location: This is a remote role with preferance for someone in the Northeast or Chicago.
Travel: Approx. 50%
The approximate base salary range for this position is $164,921 - $215,063.
Compensation will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Beyond base salary, total compensation includes a variable bonus and equity component and a range of benefit options found on our career site at ionq.co/jobs. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, a quick 15-minute metro from Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, or Toronto.
