Xylem is hiring a Sales Engineering Intern!

THE ROLE: The Sales Engineering Intern will be part of the Commercial Operations group that provides technical quotation support for large vertical turbine products across industrial and water utility markets in North America. The intern will use AI to create a parametric model to support creation of costing estimates based on metal exchange rates, equipment designs, and available costing information.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   

  • Understand physics principles such as weight and density
  • Ability to review, understand, and create tabulated information sets
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including estimators, product managers, and procurement professionals.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence and available corporate resources to create a tool that estimates costs of special materials sourced with an international, diverse supply chain.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance of AI applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of AI and Agent creation
  • An interest in solving world water challenges.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and estimation models
  • Strong organizational aptitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The estimated salary range for this position is $23 to $25 per hour.
