ControlUp is searching for a bright technical Sales Engineer to join our Sales team. Our perfect candidate is an experienced technical professional with innovative ideas who wants to do amazing things. We work fast, we work together, and we believe that every member of our team stakes a claim in our success. We are looking for someone with a proven technical Sales Engineering background in high-performance sales organizations, demonstrated ability to assist and advance technical sales both remotely and on-site when needed, and ability to create a great rapport with technical stakeholders and IT leaders alike. We value experience in dynamic start-up environments and a passion for sales. The primary focus of this role will be on closing sales transactions at a high percentage while maintaining a high volume of sales and increasing ACV.
This is a remote role based in the United States. Preference given to candidates located in the Central Time Zone.
The position may require business travel (up to 25%).
Responsibilities
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for technical sales with clearly defined revenue and prospect interaction goals: Support sales productivity and the deals flow by securing the technical closure with the technical stakeholder within the prospect's organization.
- Conduct technical presentations and demos to prospects
- Lead technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs) in prospects’ environment(s)
- Manage technical relationships with prospects and ensure successful POCs
- Participate in Sales, Marketing and Partner events and conferences
- Provide training and technical updates for Partners
- Provide feedback to Product Management for customer feature requestsKeep abreast of competition, competitive issues and productsKeep up with technical knowledge of relevant technologies
- Assist in maintaining our own ControlUp environment.
Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in working in a technical sales role or at an equivalent technical level/role with hands-on experience in end-user experience technologies* (3-5 years preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting/exceeding sales quotas
- Problem solving skills, positive attitude, resourceful and effective/confident in making decisions
- Commercial awareness and a customer-centric approach to selling
- Proficient with Virtualization and VDI technologies, both on-premises and cloud-based: Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Nutanix, AWS
- Proficient with physical end-points and their Operating Systems:
Desktop/Laptops: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
ThinClients: IGEL, Stratodesk, 10Zig, HP ThinPro
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
- Experience working in or with organizations that have large IT departments
- Knowledge of IT Operations with exposure to Microsoft/Citrix/VMware/Nutanix VDI technologies, as well as physical end-points
- Familiarity with DEX and how to position its value
- PowerShell skills and knowledge
- Experience with high growth, SaaS companies
- Fluency in a foreign language is a big plus.
