We are looking for a proactive, driven, and results-oriented Business Development/Sales Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong network, a passion for identifying new business opportunities, and the ability to drive revenue growth through large cross-sell opportunities. 

Position Overview: The Business Development/Sales Representative (BDR) will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships within the accounting services sector. This role requires a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, who will bring a book of business to the firm and focus on uncovering and closing high-value, net new business. In addition, the BDR will be tasked with identifying and executing large cross-sell opportunities within the existing client base. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the firm’s growth and revenue while working closely with our sales and leadership teams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Net New Business Development: 

  • Leverage your existing book of business and network to identify and secure new clients for the firm. 
  • Proactively generate qualified leads through outreach, cold calling, networking, and strategic partnerships. 
  • Identify client needs, develop solutions, and present tailored accounting services to prospects. 
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to build a robust sales pipeline focused on acquiring new business. 

Cross-Selling and Upselling: 

  • Work closely with account teams to uncover large cross-sell opportunities and increase the breadth of services provided. 
  • Identify areas within current accounts where additional services or solutions can be introduced. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals that expand service offerings to existing clients. 
  • Track and manage large cross-sell opportunities, ensuring successful engagement and the realization of sales targets. 

Sales Process and Lead Management: 

  • Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospects, opportunities, and interactions within the firm’s CRM system. 
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and maintain consistent communication with prospects and clients throughout the sales cycle. 
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on sales progress, challenges, and successes. 

Relationship Building and Networking: 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including CFOs, CEOs, and other senior executives within target industries. 
  • Leverage your professional network and industry knowledge to identify and nurture high-value prospects. 
  • Represent the firm at industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to promote the company’s services and build brand awareness. 

Collaboration with Sales and Marketing Teams: 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment on sales strategies, targets, and client needs. 
  • Work with the marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality, messaging, and promotional efforts. 
  • Share insights with leadership and marketing teams to refine sales strategies and drive growth. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, ideally within the accounting or professional services industry. 
  • A strong network and established book of business, with a demonstrated ability to bring in new clients. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships. 
  • Strong understanding of accounting services and the ability to clearly articulate the value proposition to potential clients. 
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven individual who thrives in a target-driven environment. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities at once. 
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) to track leads, opportunities, and client interactions. 
  • A solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify client needs and craft tailored solutions. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
