ServiceTrade is a leading SaaS company transforming the fire protection and mechanical industries. We’re seeking a motivated and skilled Sales Development Representative to join our growing team. As a Sales Development representative, you’re the first look at the kind of support and service ServiceTrade brings to the table. You’ll be the first voice our potential customers hear — setting the tone, building trust, and showing them just how much we can help their business grow. You’ll connect with inbound leads, learn about their goals, and start meaningful conversations about how ServiceTrade can fit into their success story. Then you’ll work side by side with our Account Executives to help guide those opportunities through the sales process.

About You:
We are looking for smart, competitive, career-oriented professionals who want to impact the growth of our business and of our customers. No previous sales experience is required, though it’s preferred. A natural curiosity, intelligence, grit and focus on learning and improving day over day is required.
We’ll provide training and continuous professional development to make sales your career. This is a great introduction to the initial steps of a full sales cycle.
Office Environment:
This position is based in our Durham/RTP, NC office for applicants in and around Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, and surrounding areas. Our office is located just off I-40 on Miami Blvd.
You're expected to be in the office three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Enjoy team camaraderie (and delicious catered lunches!) every Tuesday and Thursday.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Monitor and develop inbound leads from websites, advertisements, content marketing, and other digital sources on a daily basis.
- Review lead information and qualify potential leads by assessing needs, budget, and timeline for purchase
- Contact qualified leads within 10 minutes via phone and/or email to learn more about their business and determine fit with company offerings.
- Input all lead and customer information into our CRM system to track opportunities and ensure proper follow up
- Qualify potential leads and schedule appointments for software/product demonstrations, needs assessments, or proposals
- Effectively and persuasively communicate with customers using effective selling, listening and negotiation skills, proper terminology and approved messaging
- Work with the sales team to help move opportunities through the sales pipeline and ensure successful handoffs to our Sales teams
- Provide market feedback on digital marketing campaigns and strategies based on lead volume and quality from different sources.
- Meet monthly activity goals for the number of opportunities created from inbound lead
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience in inside sales, lead generation, and business development
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills include positive and energetic phone skills, excellent written and oral communication
- Sales Acumen: Ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of ServiceTrade as outlined within the training program
- Mindset: Self-motivated and target-driven.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the home service industry or trades is a plus
- Work Ethic: Proven history of showing up, being dedicated, hitting deadlines, and continuous improvement
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
