Position Overview:
 
 
 
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for driving revenue growth through consultative sales of our construction education products while delivering exceptional customer experience. As an integral member of the Construction and Property Services team, this person in this role will leverage strong communication and persuasion skills, combined with a passion for helping others, to guide potential customers toward the right educational solutions for their contractor licensing needs. 

The ideal candidate has experience in phone-based sales with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets. The Sales Associate can expect to spend their time engaging directly with prospects and customers through both inbound and outbound calls, understanding their career goals, addressing concerns, explaining product benefits, and guiding them through the purchase decision. They are also responsible for maintaining detailed records of customer interactions, following up on leads, and participating in sales team initiatives. 

Prior sales experience is required, preferably in education or professional services. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong character, ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously, and a history of creating positive customer experiences. Knowledge of the construction industry or contractor licensing is a plus. What You Will Do:

    Inbound Sales Activities:

    Respond promptly to incoming sales inquiries via phone and email. 

    Qualify prospects by understanding their licensing needs and career goals. 

    Provide detailed information about construction education programs and requirements. 

    Guide customers through the course selection and enrollment process. 

    Process orders and maintain accurate records in the CRM system. 



    Outbound Sales Activities:

    Conduct proactive outreach to potential customers and leads. 

    Follow up with prospects at key decision points in their buying journey. 

    Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities. 

    Execute targeted outreach campaigns to specific customer segments. 

    Reconnect with past customers for continuing education opportunities. 



    Product Knowledge & Consulting:

    Maintain expert knowledge of construction education products and licensing requirements. 

    Stay current on state-specific contractor licensing regulations. 

    Provide consultative guidance on education pathways and career development. 

    Recommend appropriate course packages based on customer needs. 

    Answer detailed questions about course content, format, and completion requirements. 



    Customer Relationship Management: 

    Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current students. 

    Document all customer interactions and maintain accurate records in CRM. 

    Identify and communicate customer feedback to improve products and processes. 

    Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues appropriately. 

    Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with their educational experience. 



    Sales Performance: 

    Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs. 

    Track and report on sales activities and results. 

    Identify trends and opportunities to improve sales effectiveness. 

    Participate in regular sales meetings and training sessions. 

    Collaborate with team members to share best practices and achieve team goals. 



    Administrative & Support:  

    Maintain accurate student records and enrollment documentation. 

    Process payments and handle basic billing inquiries. 

    Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth customer experience. 

    Complete required sales reports and documentation. 

    Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed.

What You Need To Success:

  • Strong phone presence and excellent verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to listen actively and identify customer needs. 
  • Experience with consultative selling techniques. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals. 
  • Passion for helping others succeed. 
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new products and processes. 
  • Extend and live the organization’s values.  
  • Commitment to education and lifelong learning. 
  • Experience in professional education preferred; higher education experience, K-12 experience, and other product experience considered. 
  • Experience with LMSs, CRMs, project management software, call center phone systems, and organizational tools. 

  • Education & Training  

  • High School diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.  
  • Minimum 2+ years in a phone sales role. 
  • Relevant industry training preferred but not required.
