ROI Specialist
Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled and experienced ROI Specialist / Data Entry to join our Health Information Management team.In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant release of patient health information (PHI), performing extensive data entry to maintain meticulous records, and safeguarding patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and state regulations.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)In this role, you will:
Process and Manage Requests: Lead the accurate and timely processing of requests for patient health information (PHI) via multiple channels (mail, fax, portals), verifying requestor identity and authorization before release.
Collaborate for Compliance: Develop and maintain detailed logs and documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, HIPAA, federal, and state regulations governing health information release.
Drive Data Integrity: Support critical decision-making and operational efficiency by performing high-volume, accurate data entry of request details and release activity into electronic tracking systems.
The ideal candidate will have:
1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical records setting, preferably in Release of Information (ROI) or Health Information Management.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA, medical records release regulations, and proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
Proven ability in accurate data entry, professional communication, and handling sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
High school diploma or GED required. Certification (e.g., RHIT, RHIA, CRIS) is a plus.
Salary details: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Shifts: Monday - Friday 6:00 - 2:30pm
