About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Mortgage Structuring & Analytics Associate to join our team within the Mortgage Finance Group (MFG). MFG provides financing and capital markets solutions to entities that own, originate, or service residential real estate loans and related assets. The Structuring & Analytics team within the MFG is responsible for the front-office analytical aspects of the business including structuring transactions, underwriting collateral credit, advising clients on asset disposition strategies, valuing mortgage assets, tracking market conditions, managing portfolio risks and presenting performance metrics to management.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the structuring and underwriting of Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS) transactions spanning a variety of asset classes, including Prime Jumbo, Non-QM, CRT, RTL, SFR, 2nd liens, etc.
  • Coordinat between the client, relationship managers, traders, syndicate, rating agencies, lawyers and accountants to ensure a smooth execution process
  • Utilize structuring and market knowledge to provide solutions and valuations on mortgage-related assets for various purposes including financing arrangements and client advisory activities
  • Oversee mortgage warehouse financing lines ensuring proper maintenance, risk management and reporting
  • Monitor market conditions and collateral performance, report key metrics and lead discussions with internal partners
  • Collaborate with the origination & capital markets team, portfolio management team, mortgage trading/syndicate/sales and credit risk officers

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in structured finance with direct experience structuring transactions
  • Direct experience with collateral tools and structuring software (i.e. CAS, Intex, Bloomberg, Polypaths, and Yieldbook)
  • Proficiency with coding languages, databases and visualization tools (i.e. Python, SQL, and PowerBI)
  • Well-established understanding of capital markets and mortgage banking
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important
  • BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering or equivalent experience

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$120,400.00 - $287,600.00
