Summary  

Seeking intellectually curious and highly engaged individuals to join the Personal Investor Workforce Planning Team as Resource Planning Analysts. This role supports the Distribution and S&OE organizations by developing forecasting and staffing models, delivering analytical insights on business initiatives and market conditions, and providing recommendations that inform key workforce decisions. The position also includes mentoring and coaching resource planners and associates to strengthen overall team capability.

Responsibilities  

  • Provide independent workforce planning oversight to multiple mid-size business units or one or more larger business units using strong conceptual thinking and flawless execution. Engage as a trusted advisor, anticipating issues and opportunities. 

  • Partner with Workforce Management to maintain full awareness of all scheduled activities, so that the appropriate staffing impact assessments may be completed. Recommendations for adjustments are made, as needed, to ensure optimal operational performance.

  • Complete ad-hoc analysis requests that will support the business department decision making process. Make data driven recommendations to support these initiatives.

  • Initiate and implement workflows and process improvements including projects that have a departmental or divisional scope.

  • Generate driver and outcome forecasts for Vanguard’s inbound call and/or processing departments. Create and maintain forecasting models using both standard and advanced statistical techniques. Leverage data mining and statistical analysis to gain insights into factors influencing volumes.

  • Continually assess staffing drivers (i.e. volume, handle time, shrinkage, and occupancy) relative to plan, create awareness within the business as needed, and make recommendations for any necessary actions.

  • Prepare, in partnership with the business, quarterly budget packets. Analyze actuals compared to forecasts, and make recommendations for change that will put the business in a position for success. Communicate results to senior management. Ensure an open channel of communication with business partners and Finance to create a complete staffing need package.

  • Determine and maintain PTO requirements, seasonal workforce, and internships.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including potential highly complex projects.

Requirements:  

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Minimum three years progressively responsible and related work experience.

  • Planning, data collection, statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, regression, etc.), and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong initiative required, including ability to work independently, create strategies and plans and implement with little direction.

  • Time management skills – ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management

  • Strong professional presence including ability to influence and persuade
