About the job

The Mail Extractions Science team is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Research Scientist to develop neural network models of HTML. These models will be deployed to the Mail Intelligence platform of Yahoo Mail, which processes billions of documents per day, and is relied upon to make crucial information available to our users at the time it is needed. Join us to ship models that power a re-imagined interface to email for one billion people. We are a remote-first company. The other members of this team are in San Francisco, Mountain View, and Denver.

What you will be doing

  • Training deep neural networks to predict structured outputs from HTML documents
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative evaluations
  • Designing and implementing feedback loops to identify and correct mistakes

What we need to see

  • PhD in computer science, physical sciences, or biological sciences 
  • Or master's degree in computer science with 5+ years of research experience in machine learning
  • Ability to rapidly formulate and conduct experiments, track results, and communicate them
  • Success at producing and testing novel ideas that achieve lift on a difficult machine learning problem
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks
  • Ability to identify, debug, and resolve complex issues quickly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
