The Company You’ll Join: At Veris Insights, our mission is to build an exceptional firm dedicated to improving the world of work. Through granular candidate insights, comprehensive employer benchmarking, ongoing market intelligence, strategic guidance, and recruiting feedback platforms, we're redefining how North America's leading organizations approach recruiting, employer branding, DEI, and talent management. We partner with hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies, setting a new standard for research, analytics, and insights in university recruiting. Our research shapes the strategic narratives talent leaders rely on to make critical decisions, uniquely positioning us at the forefront of the industry.

The Team You’ll Join: The Custom Insights team provides customized, actionable research tailored specifically to each of our employer partners. We focus on gathering pivotal candidate data at critical decision-making points—the decision to apply, the decision to accept an offer, and the internship experience—to deliver bespoke insights and strategic recommendations that significantly enhance candidate experiences and recruitment outcomes.

As a Research Consultant, you will independently lead customized research projects from conception through delivery. You’ll partner directly with senior-level stakeholders leading early-career recruiting at Fortune 1000 organizations, serving as their trusted advisor on recruitment strategy and candidate experience decisions.

How You’ll Grow: The Custom Insights team is one of the most dynamic and impactful groups at Veris Insights, encompassing strategic client engagement, data-driven research design, and influential presentation delivery. You'll collaborate closely with senior leaders to manage and deliver customized research projects, including independently shaping survey methodologies to clients needs, owning client interactions, and confidently delivering bespoke research projects to executive stakeholders. You’ll have exposure to an array of growth opportunities, from building trusted advisory relationships to mastering research design and strategic storytelling. No one day looks like another, and opportunities for skill growth are incredibly varied in nature.

Your Character:

Incisive thinker. You can take a research problem from a broad client ask to a fully delivered, polished product, connecting dots and generating insights that others in the room might miss. You quickly interpret complex data and distill it into what actually matters.

Executive presence. You can walk into a room with a client's Head of Early Career Talent and hold them as a peer. Your clarity and confidence give people reason to trust your read on their business.

A high bar for your own work. You look for ways to make deliverables sharper and recommendations more useful, not just meeting a project's scope. You have an obsession for detail and a belief that everything you put in front of a client should be best-in-class.

Invested in the firm's success. You notice ways our research, methodology, or client relationships could be stronger, and you speak up and help make them that way. Serving clients and teammates well is part of how you think about doing good work.

Comfortable with ambiguity. Client needs and research questions aren't always well-defined from the start. You're energized by the challenge of figuring out the right approach, and you adapt quickly as projects or priorities shift.

Key Responsibilities: Research Consulting & Project Management

  • Serve as the primary research advisor for 8-10 employer partners, diagnosing their recruiting challenges and designing customized research protocols to address them
  • Scope projects and create workplans that align research design with client objectives
  • Lead end-to-end research projects independently: define client needs, formulate research questions, develop tailored survey instruments, and produce insightful deliverables
  • Coordinate project timelines and proactively manage relationships with senior stakeholders and main points of contact at member organizations

Key Responsibilities: Data Interpretation & Strategic Narrative Formation

  • Distill quantitative and qualitative findings into clear, executive-ready summaries and strategic recommendations
  • Analyze open-ended data to discern key themes and translate them into compelling narratives tailored for early career and talent acquisition leaders
  • Write tailored takeaways and recommendations for employers based on the most salient research findings
  • Review research deliverables (own and peers') to ensure accuracy, clarity, and client-readiness before they reach stakeholders

Key Responsibilities: Communicating Research Findings

  • Present research findings directly to senior and executive-level stakeholders in member organizations with confidence and credibility
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on employers' recruiting strategy, proactively providing strategic guidance rooted in Veris Insights' research that influences client decisions
  • Build enduring advisory relationships that position you as a go-to source of talent intelligence for client stakeholders

Key Responsibilities: Internal Processes & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to research strategy by generating ideas for new project objectives and product innovation
  • Identify opportunities for infrastructure and process improvements, and help drive their implementation through thoughtful work planning
  • Demonstrate strong work calibration skills, managing competing priorities and quality standards across a portfolio of concurrent client projects

The Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in survey research, analytics, talent insights, consulting, or a related field, with meaningful time spent in a client-facing or advisory capacity.
  • A track record of turning ambiguous, loosely defined problems into clear, well-scoped research designs, from formulating the right questions through instrument design, analysis, and delivery.
  • Experience operating as a genuine advisor to senior stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to shape how clients think about their own strategy.
  • A history of producing work - sharp quantitative and qualitative analysis paired with the storytelling skill to make complex data land as a clear, actionable narrative.
  • The written and verbal command to present findings directly to senior leaders and have the room trust your read, not just your report.
  • A demonstrated ability to run custom projects end to end, independently, from scoping through delivery, without needing the path mapped out in advance.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent client engagements without dropping the quality bar.

The Compensation & Benefits Package:

  • Salary: $80,000-92,500 annually, depending on experience
  • Location: Remote-first within the U.S., with ability and willingness to be in our DC office for team off-sites, strategic planning, or other key moments where face-to-face connection adds value
  • Time Off: Unlimited PTO, plus monthly mental health days
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a $1,000 annual wellness stipend
  • Retirement: 401(k) with up to 4% employer match
  • Family Support: Paid parental leave
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider OPT/CPT holders.

Please keep in mind: Research has shown that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds only apply to jobs when they meet 100% of the requirements vs. their majority counterparts, which apply at a much higher rate if they meet 50-60% of the requirements. So, with that being said, if you are interested in the role, we would love to hear how you can leverage your talents to be an awesome culture add.

Our Values & Culture, In Brief: Talent is in our DNA. It is what we study, who we serve, and the quality we most pride ourselves on internally. In order for our team members to be at their best, we provide individualized benefits and support. At the most basic level, benefits include unlimited PTO, health insurance benefits, and career development opportunities. We believe a well-rounded and diverse team is the key to our success. To provide the widest range of experiences and perspectives in our member service and internal culture, we never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran, or disability status. Please let our recruiter know if there are any accommodations we can provide for you to ensure an equitable and comfortable recruitment process.

We highly value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and this shows up in everything we do. Our research has a significant focus on the experiences of candidates from diverse backgrounds. Internally, we have Employee Resource Groups for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ employees, and Affinity Groups to support women and neurodiversity. Furthermore, we’ve established a Diversity Council to promote a workplace environment that is safe, respectful, and inclusive for all and acts as an active partner to People Ops and Leadership in service of our broader firm-wide DEI goals.
