ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Manager of the PMO, we are seeking an experienced and engaged Technical Project Manager for our software projects to add to our small team of Project Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the full lifecycle of product-driven software development projects using Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Facilitate Sprint Planning, daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Coach teams on Agile values and Scrum practices to foster continuous improvement and self-organization.
- Analyze Sprint metrics to uncover trends, drive data-informed improvements, and facilitate experiments.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure alignment on priorities, proactively identify risks and blockers, and facilitate effective communication with the development team.
- Develop and maintain feature rollout and migration plans, project documentation, and schedules to support deployments.
- Manage stakeholder communication and foster cross-team collaboration to ensure alignment on expectations and progress.
- Oversee tracking of bugs, features, and technical tasks, creating related work items from discussions and dependencies.
- Manage Jira projects and workflows, leveraging automation to boost efficiency.
- Along with the other PMO team members, help to refine our internal project management process and best practices, as we continue to grow and scale as a company.
REQUIREMENTS
Self-management and time management are critical in this role. Without it, you will not be successful. Other requirements include:
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Proven ability to apply technical expertise by leading multiple concurrent projects, including web development, platform migrations, feature enhancements, and maintenance - preferably within learning platforms or similar ecosystems.
- PMP, CSM and/or PMI-ACP certification, or other industry-standard certification.
- A communication professional – must be able to explain technical issues to a non- technical person, pleasantly (we are always on Slack and Zoom with stakeholders), and work with highly-technical developers.
- Highly-attentive to detail.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence is preferred.
- Experience working from home and managing projects remotely preferred.
- Experience working with nearshore/offshore developers preferred. While most of our developers are US-based, several key projects will be augmented with nearshore developers.
- Eager to research and learn in a self-directed way (always improving), while maintaining a passion for managing technical projects.
- Familiarity with AI technologies such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and eagerness to learn about new processes, techniques and technologies. Data driven approach to project management.
