At Robots & Pencils, we believe that creativity and technology work best when people do too. As we continue to scale our AI, engineering, and digital delivery capabilities across the U.S., we’re looking for a Relationship Sourcer to build and nurture long-term relationships with top technical talent.

In this role, you will maintain warm talent communities, develop pre-vetted pipelines, and help ensure our teams have high-quality candidate shortlists ready for upcoming client projects. You’ll collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and Sales to support business development, strengthen our employer brand, and proactively anticipate hiring needs.

This is a relationship-driven, research-focused role ideal for someone who thrives on connecting with people, spotting talent early, and building meaningful pipelines that accelerate hiring.

Why This Role Matters

As our project portfolio and AI-driven delivery capabilities expand, having fast access to vetted, engaged U.S.-based talent is critical. The Relationship Sourcer ensures we can quickly mobilize engineering, AI/ML, and delivery experts to meet client demand without compromising quality.

Your work directly impacts hiring speed, proposal readiness, and overall talent strategy—positioning Robots & Pencils as a top destination for exceptional technical talent.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain warm, long-term pipelines of U.S.-based technical talent including software engineers, AI/ML engineers, forward deployed engineers, and delivery professionals.
  • Proactively source talent via outbound channels, technical communities, events, referrals, and open-source platforms.
  • Screen and vet candidates for technical alignment and potential cultural fit.
  • Create and maintain shortlists for recurring and upcoming project needs.

Relationship Management & Engagement

  • Nurture ongoing relationships with passive candidates and maintain consistent touchpoints.
  • Develop personalized engagement strategies tailored to candidate interests and career paths.
  • Maintain warm talent communities that can be activated quickly for new roles.
  • Track availability, interest, and career movements to stay ahead of hiring needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales to support early-stage proposals by providing vetted talent options for upcoming work.
  • Work with Marketing to support employer branding, talent newsletters, sourcing campaigns, and events.
  • Collaborate with Recruiters and Talent Partners to align sourcing efforts with priority roles and business goals.

Market Research & Intelligence

  • Conduct research on U.S. tech talent markets, emerging skills, compensation benchmarks, and competitive landscapes.
  • Identify niche talent pools and areas of opportunity for strategic sourcing.
  • Share insights with Talent and Sales teams to guide sourcing plans and project scoping.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate records, candidate notes, and pipeline segmentation in ATS and sourcing tools.
  • Track sourcing performance metrics and recommend improvements to outreach strategies.
  • Ensure all pipelines remain organized, compliant, and actionable.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel for events, meetups, or onsite collaboration

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–4+ years of sourcing, talent research, or recruiting coordination experience—preferably in technical talent acquisition.
  • Strong experience sourcing U.S.-based engineering, AI/ML, and digital delivery roles.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and candidate engagement skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple pipelines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with modern sourcing tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, AmazingHiring, GitHub search, etc.).
  • A proactive, curious, and resourceful approach to discovering and nurturing top talent.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Enjoy building long-term relationships with exceptional candidates.
  • Are energized by research, talent discovery, and community building.
  • Communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and with a human-centered mindset.
  • Love partnering across teams—Sales, Marketing, Talent—to support shared goals.
  • Stay organized and calm in a dynamic, evolving environment.
  • Take pride in staying one step ahead of hiring needs.
