Job Description:

At Regions, the Regulatory Analyst focuses on monitoring, researching, managing, and implementing responses to all regulatory changes at both the federal and state level that affect Regions lines of business. This role is required to draft reporting related to regulatory changes and emerging risks which may be distributed throughout the lines of business or the enterprise. This role also helps develop and update compliance training, and maintains reporting related to the completion of that training.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitors regulatory changes and assesses the changes’ impact to the lines of business
  • Assembles cross functional teams as needed in order to document the relevant regulatory changes’ impact to Regions line of business
  • Drafts and distributes line of business or enterprise-wide reporting related to regulatory changes and emerging risks
  • Prepares, schedules, and administers compliance related presentations and/or conference calls regarding emerging risks and other current regulatory trends
  • Maintains databases of information related to these regulatory changes
  • Participates in compliance-related communication strategies, including but not limited to: intranet compliance and regulatory communications, compliance training materials and messaging, and reporting to various committees
  • Manages and oversees the compliance training program for Regions which may include: developing and updating as necessary applicable compliance MAC courses, maintaining and reporting from the Regulatory and Compliance Risk CERTS process, and developing materials and conducting compliance-related training to the 1st lines of defense
  • May plan, organize and manage periodic Compliance and Regulatory Risk Management Symposiums

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in a financial or regulatory environment

Preferences

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Legal writing experience a plus
  • Knowledge of various bank systems

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain the enterprise regulatory inventory and monitor regulatory developments impacting banking products, services, business activities, and operational processes. Assess regulatory changes to identify potential impacts across business units and functions.
  • Apply strong knowledge of banking regulations and business operations to analyze regulatory requirements, evaluate business impacts, and identify compliance obligations across lines of business.
  • Serve as a central liaison among Legal, Enterprise Compliance, Operational Risk, and business stakeholders, coordinating the assessment, communication, and implementation of regulatory changes while relying on Legal for regulatory interpretation.
  • Facilitate and monitor business impact assessments to determine required changes to policies, procedures, processes, controls, systems, documentation, and training programs.
  • Review and analyze regulatory alerts, proposed and final rule changes, supervisory guidance, and emerging compliance risks to proactively identify required actions and drive regulatory change initiatives.
  • Track regulatory implementation activities, project plans, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and outstanding issues to support timely, effective, and sustainable compliance outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver clear, concise reporting on regulatory developments, implementation progress, key risks, and compliance readiness to leadership and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

  • Experience in Regulatory Change Management within the banking or financial services industry, including assessing, tracking, and implementing regulatory changes.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business applications.
  • Broad knowledge of banking products, services, and business units.
  • Understanding of a wide range of financial services regulations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and business stakeholders to drive regulatory compliance initiatives and operational change.
  • Experience maintaining regulatory inventories, reviewing regulatory alerts, and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of regulatory change implementation.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred; however, equivalent regulatory compliance experience and demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying regulations will be equally valued.
  • Prior experience with banking institutions and familiarity with regional banking operations, products, and processes strongly preferred.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Median:

$141,750.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:

This job may participate in an annual discretionary bonus plan.
