Position Summary
The Manager is responsible for providing overall strategic and operational human resources leadership for multiple Nexstar work locations. The HR Manager will drive key human resources initiatives in all functional areas including performance management, employee relations, and policy design/interpretation. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager will support an employee population of approximately 1,000 union/non-union employees.

We’re looking for a dynamic human resource professional skilled at leading an organization through change and providing support in a fast-paced environment. As the HR leader, the Manager will use their expertise to develop an HR agenda that supports the business strategy for Nexstar.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic HR-related planning, integration, staffing, manager coaching, employee development, compliance and performance management for represented and non-represented workforce.
- Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees to further the mission, values and strategic vision of the company.
- Partner with Labor & Employment Counsel to resolve all employee relations matters and labor relations issues, and to provide coaching to department leaders in such cases.
- Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full inclusion of diverse talents and abilities.
- Inspire and foster the professional growth and development of all employees within the organization.
- Manage human resources workflows and strategic business projects.
- Identify training needs and design training plans for the business.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration or a related field, or an equivalent amount of experience required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in leadership positions.
- Ability to partner with client group in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to communicate and champion HR and company processes.
- Experience in a union environment.
- Ability to research, summarize, form conclusions and articulate recommendations.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, critical thinking, problem solving, project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable State and Federal employment laws and general business practices.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
- Previous experience in television or entertainment industry a plus.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $92,000
Position to be located in our offices in either Chicago, New York or Dallas
