Job Description

  • Responsible for the process of investigation, evaluation and, if necessary, remediation at Bosch locations (compliance with legality, prevention of hazards for environment, employees and third parties)
  • Responsible for the Post-Merger-Integration of a portfolio of acquired sites. This includes advising on technical measures (i.e. investigations, remediation), as well as internal cost tracking and alignment with insurances and sellers to ensure cost coverage according to existing insurance policies and legal agreement
  • Focus will be on environmental compliance, e.g. soil and groundwater impacts, but also hazardous building materials.
  • Responsible for instructing technical staff at site level and for documenting investigation and remediation measures as well as initiating further measures
  • Professional understanding of the US and Canada soil and groundwater protection regulations and laws, as well as the legal framework legislation in the environmental sector
  • In close cooperation with our lead experts in Germany you coordinate framework agreements with globally active environmental consultants (In North America, we have Master Service Agreements (MSA) with 3 consultants - AECOM, WSP and Woodard & Curran. We are working on a MSA for Tetra Tech as well)
  • In close cooperation with our lead experts in Germany you define technical standards and develop work and documentation templates (e.g. questionnaires) (In North America, we have Master Service Agreements (MSA) with 3 consultants - AECOM, WSP and Woodard & Curran. Qualifications

Basic:

  • Education: Degree (BSc or MSc) in environmental engineering, geology, chemical engineering, civil engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience - also in international tasks (investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, due diligence, demolition of buildings, investigation of building contaminants, purchase and sale of properties), experience and confidence in the preparation of presentation documents and the development and development and implementation of guidelines and directives, dealing with contaminated site management methods and cost estimates as well as a high degree of cost awareness or economic thinking in connection with technical understanding

Preferred:

  • Personal skills: High degree of resilience and flexibility, confident manner with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. authorities and experts)
  • Working style: Able to work in a team, independent, analytical and conceptual work with the openness to innovative investigation and remediation technologies
  • Leadership: Ability to effectively lead teams and external consultant companies
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel, interest in innovative software tools (contaminated site database, GIS)
  • Languages: fluent in English, furthermore Spanish/Portuguese would be favorable
