Profile Summary:

As the Sr Software Developer, you will work in an agile environment with a team of highly skilled software developers to help elevate our product with new innovations and designs to put our application in a position of continued five star excellence for years to come! This position requires a deep understanding of full-stack Java development with Spring Boot and ReactJS.

The individual in this role develops deliverables that are valuable to the business, including business capabilities, business requirements and workflow.

Profile Description:

• Leads the identification and definition of applications architectures, components and interfaces, design of data model, data/information flows and security design.
• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable, and robust web applications using Java for the backend and ReactJS for the frontend.
• Build reusable UI components and libraries for future use.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software.
• Build scalable and efficient server-side applications using Java Spring Boot.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality.
• Implement business logic and data persistence layers.
• Work with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in both the frontend and backend.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in both front-end and back-end code.
• Provides technical direction and coaching to software developers and associate software developers in application development activities. Adheres to all organizational and IT policies and process for software development and project management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or a directly related field.
• Six years of complex (multi-tiered) software development experience including two years of leadership experience.
• Proven ability of structure analysis and technical design techniques, database and file access methods.
• Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot and ReactJS.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Familiarity with database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience in Healthcare industry.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
