The Limited Radiology Technologist is responsible to produce quality radiographic examinations of the chest and distal extremities which are used in medical diagnosis and interpreted by radiologists and medical physicians to identify injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions, or lesions within the body.

Responsibilities

Utilizes general operating procedures, i.e., startup procedures, basic troubleshooting and problem solving. Ensures proper film identification to include date stickers, flashed patient identification and right/left markers. Ensures proper and fair charging of patient procedures in compliance with Model Compliance and Ethical guidelines. Ensure proper protocol for filing and copying of films. Positions patient to achieve best examination results and in-depth knowledge of human anatomy. Explains the x-ray process to each patient prior to the examination. Sets up, adjusts, and adapts equipment and procedure to accommodate the patient’s condition to obtain reliable results. Utilizes safety techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and themselves and proficiency in delivery of patients, supplies, films, and reports. Ensures accountability and responsibility for verification of proper patient identification using patient armband. Utilizes personal protective equipment to protect from exposure to chemical, radiation, and infectious hazards. Completes work within acceptable time frames; be able to modify procedures according to departmental policy when problems related to patient’s age occur. Performs daily stock checks for supplies, films, stickers etc. Weekly checks for and replacement of expired supplies. May help with transportation of patients. Assists in the file room as needed. May help with reception function. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
Require: Must complete 1 clinical year from an accredited Radiology program.

Experience
Required: 6 months clinical experience in Radiology.

Certifications
Required: Must complete 1 clinical year from an accredited Radiology program and must be eligible for the ARRT exam within 1 year from date of hire. AHA BLS.
