Job Description SummaryLead a high-performing team of quality and technology experts to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) key performance indicators (KPI) across GE Aerospace’s supply chain.
This leader role focuses on the Forging and Non-Destructive Evaluation and Testing (NDE) supply chain and sub-tier suppliers that process product for GE Aerospace’s rotating parts, structures, and combustors. Individual will own quality execution for these suppliers - including implementation of quality plans, qualification of new parts and processes, and improvement of supplier performance.
As a key partner to internal and external stakeholders, you will analyze process and scorecard data, identify improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives that advance KPIs. You will also lead efforts to establish safety and quality partnerships with suppliers, advising senior leadership on emerging trends, overcoming business challenges, and influencing standards, cost reduction, and growth strategies.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Team for Forging & NDE 
  • Lead a team of diverse, global Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to drive safety and quality improvements towards business level KPIs 
  • Serve as a technical liaison across multiple disciplines (e.g. shops, materials engineers, design, sourcing, operations, etc) to drive/broker solutions, influence changes to systemic items, and clear roadblocks 
  • Facilitate growth and engagement of the team by fostering learning opportunities and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Actively model effective listening and clear communications. 
  • Provides counsel to senior leadership on quality initiatives, projects, root cause and corrective analysis investigations, and more.  
  • Owns supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence 
  • Translate complex quality concepts into clear, actionable guidance for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Exercise strong evaluative judgment to achieve effective, balanced outcomes. 
  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision 
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on topics regarding forgings and NDE 
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations 
  • May require strong commercial awareness and is expected to influence the development of strategy within own area, including control of resources and influences policy formulation 
  • Work is subject to functional policy objectives 
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity of both product and processes 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • + a minimum of 5 years aerospace quality, team leadership, and aerospace supply chain experience).
