Job Description

Quality Control Analyst

Are you a seasoned mortgage professional with deep expertise in underwriting, compliance, and quality assurance? Do you have a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for protecting asset quality and mitigating risk?

We are seeking a Quality Control Analyst to conduct high-level audits across our loan portfolio. In this essential role, you will be the final line of defense, ensuring that all loans comply with investor, insurer, and agency guidelines, as well as our internal standards. Your expertise will be critical in safeguarding the integrity of our loan origination process.

What You Will Do:

  • Execute comprehensive audits of loan files, including both pre-funding and post-closing reviews, in strict adherence to the company's Quality Control Plan and procedures.

  • Conduct discretionary audits on files flagged for specific concerns by Underwriting or Management.

  • Analyze and interpret audit findings from both internal reviews and external vendors to identify systemic trends, prepare detailed reports, and present findings for senior management review.

  • Manage responses to audit requests from investors and agencies, compiling required documentation in the precise format needed.

  • Perform quality control reviews of third-party vendor audit findings to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

  • Maintain relationships with third-party QC vendors, monitor their performance, and report findings to leadership.

  • Monitor and track various investor and agency scorecards to anticipate trends and manage delinquencies proactively.

  • Serve as a knowledgeable and courteous liaison between the QC department and branch/corporate employees, providing timely and efficient communication regarding loan file status and deficiencies.

What You Will Bring:

  • 10+ years of related experience in mortgage lending or a closely related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in mortgage loan underwriting, with Government designations (FHA, VA, USDA) strongly preferred.

  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge of all existing and emerging loan products (Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA), guidelines, and mortgage lending processes and regulations.

  • Proven ability to perform complex research, critical thinking, problem-solving, and make solid business decisions under pressure.

  • Demonstrated experience with reporting, analyzing, and interpreting data to produce accurate, detailed work on multiple projects simultaneously.
