Quality Assurance Automation Lead

We are a hybrid workplace where San Diego employees work from their homes as well as in our stunning main headquarters enjoying a gym with classes and (early next year) spa services, outdoor lawn work area, and steeply discounted food hall. Remote employees work from home and visit the main office for group events and in-person collaboration.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in driving our software quality assurance lifecycle, collaborating with development, manual QA and DevOps teams to establish test strategies, and developing automated tests to ensure our releases meet the highest standards.

• Lead the architect,  design and development of automation testing tools, frameworks and processes for ensuring user experience and data quality across all product lines
• Work closely with multiple teams to identify areas that can benefit from automation and design software solutions accordingly
• Drive the software quality assurance life cycle within an Agile process
• Mentor and coach team members on best practices for automation development
• Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and practices
• Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices and standards in automation and software development
• Establish and govern key automation metrics (e.g., ROI, flake rate, coverage by risk) and communicate test suite health and risks to cross-functional teams and engineering leadership.

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven technical expertise, with a deep understanding of software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong proficiency and hands-on expertise in Typescript and Python are mandatory, as these are the primary languages used across our product lines, including experience with NodeJS.
• Demonstrated ability to proficiently utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tools to enhance automation strategies and test efficiency.
• Mandatory deep expertise in Playwright (TypeScript), with strong hands-on experience in framework architecture and debugging.
• Extensive experience with API testing (REST/GraphQL) for comprehensive data and service integration validation.
• Understanding of CI/CD and continuous automation pipelines (Github Action)
• Familiarity with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools (GIT, JIRA, Qase)
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with load/stress testing frameworks and methodologies

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g.,Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Salary

• Salary range for this position is $131,000 to $154,000
• Salary listed reflects the base salary only and does not include other elements of total  compensation
• Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training

Equity

In addition to this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation for this position. We aim to offer higher-than-average equity compensation for a company of our size, and communicate equity amounts at the time of offer issuance.
