The QA/Systems Automation Intern will assist with automated test script development, manual testing, defect documentation, and collaboration with teams to enhance software quality.
Armstrong Transport Group (ATG) is looking for a QA/Systems Automation Intern, who will work with our QA department to ensure the highest software quality, reliability, stability and scalability with our products and enterprise software.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in writing and maintaining basic automated test scripts under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
- Support the QA team with manual test execution for new features and regression testing.
- Help document test results, track defects, and communicate findings clearly to the team.
- Learn and apply QA methodologies, processes, and tools in a real-world agile development environment.
- Participate in daily standups and sprint ceremonies to gain exposure to the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to understand requirements and help ensure product quality.
- Contribute to maintaining test data and setting up test environments with support from DevOps and infrastructure teams.
- Assist with monitoring automated test runs in the CI/CD pipeline and reporting results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of automated software testing concepts.
- Interest in learning methodologies, automation tools, and agile practices.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting (Python, TypeScript, or similar) is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and curiosity for problem-solving.
- Exposure to tools like JIRA or GitHub is a plus, but training will be provided.
