Job Responsibilities:
Summary: The Quality Engineering Intern will work closely with quality engineering department to assist in departmental tasks
Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.
Conduct gage R&R on new or existing gages & update Process Failure Mode Element Analysis (FMEA), Control plan database as per requirement Assist tool room in entering SPC data (Capability Studies) after tooling adjustments for SPC improvements, Assist in improving Cpk, Ppk index Red tag defective product & Provide input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommends process changes if necessary. Assists in and/or leads customer driven root cause analysis processes (i.e. 3L5Why & 8D) Monitor the utilization and efficiency of quality systems used in the workplace Respond to all initial quality Andon calls Assist in creating GP12/Safe launch inspection paperwork and enter into I Charts Recommend solutions to ensure conformance to quality system requirements Upkeep of records accumulated in production process, Analyze data to identify areas for quality improvement Access, input and retrieve information from the computer Assist department in APQP activities & PPAP submission Review, inspect and operate gages and check fixtures on the floor, Assist in keeping CMM layout records Assist in developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures to maintain IATF-16949 certification Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna's operating principles Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on MAFACT & Employee Opinion Survey

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment
- Must have basic to intermediate computer skills
- Must have strong oral and written capabilities
- Must have basic knowledge of AIAG Core tools (APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, MSA)
- Statistical & problem-solving knowledge preferred
- Working knowledge of quality systems, IATF-16949 or ISO-9001
- Working knowledge of CMS, Computerized Management System for inventory
Basic knowledge of GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
