About the Job
As a Software Automation Engineer within Keeper’s Quality Engineering organization, you will be a key contributor to ensuring the quality and reliability of Keeper’s backend and front-end systems. You will design and implement scalable automation frameworks, integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality web applications at speed and scale. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly support Keeper’s mission of providing secure, seamless solutions to millions of users worldwide.
This role requires a strong engineering mindset, deep automation expertise, and the ability to influence quality strategy across teams. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, security engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver high-quality, resilient features for enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for functional, regression, and performance testing of web applications and APIs
- Create and manage end-to-end automated test cases using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities throughout the SDLC
- Conduct code reviews, enforce automation best practices, and mentor junior automation engineers
- Analyze test results, report defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues efficiently
- Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve automated test suite health across multiple environments
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new automation tools, technologies, and frameworks
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong focus on web applications and APIs
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python
- Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, TestNG)
- Expertise with REST APIs, HTTP, and modern web technologies
- Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or Karate
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools and workflows
- Experience working with version control systems (Git)
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Experience with containerized and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Due to this role’s involvement working on FedRAMP compliance requirements, qualified candidates must be a “U.S. Person”
