Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for a Public Relations (PR) Manager with a visionary, out of the box approach to lead media relations. The PR Manager will play a critical role in helping to define, monitor, and sustain external relations, reporting directly to the Head of PR and Communications. You will leverage best practices, innovative ways of working, and a passion for radical thinking to shape the success of Slate in the media.
What you get to do:
- Earn Slate unfair share of voice.
- Develop industry-leading external communications strategies and relationships across media categories, working with the Head of PR and Communications.
- Serve as company spokesperson at external events and in interviews.
- Monitor media and share of voice.
- Align internal and external communications objectives, working with the PR, Social Media, Growth, Creative, and Experiential teams.
What you bring to the team:
- 15+ years of PR experience (i.e. client-side, agency-side, media), with a proven track record of strategic story placements in automotive and non-automotive publications.
- Experience defining and articulating a brand's unique positioning, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and aligns with company values.
- Durable relationships among automotive media and journalists/influencers in other areas.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Knowledge of PR tracking metrics, market research methodologies, and competitive analysis.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams and guiding projects through various departments, including creative, social, and growth.
- Must love cars! You’ll be thinking about cars all day every day, and it’s the most fun when you love cars.
