Summary:
A proposal writer is responsible for gathering information, crafting persuasive document that resonates with the client’s needs. Candidates will format each proposal according to company guidelines, information obtained during research and discovery prior to seeking internal approval before sending out proposals to sources.
Position Responsibilities:
- Author Statement of Work, proposals, and other contractual or technical related documentation.
- Attend meetings or interview clients to discover expectations for the contract or document being written.
- Maintain close coordination with Sales team on essential technical presales duties/requests.
- Author and contribute to RFP responses and client presentations.
- Develop and maintain proposal outlines, storyboards, and Sales contract templates.
- Lead training with Sales team members on material related to Technical Pre-Sales processes.
- Communicate status, including timely reporting and escalation of issues and risks.
- Actively pursue personal development by maintaining and obtaining technical capabilities, soft skills and security specific knowledge through formal education, certification, and other avenues.
- Provide feedback to management for non-standard issues; ability to show critical thinking.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience:
- 1+ years of prior relevant experience or equal education working as a Proposal Writer, Business Analyst, IT support or other security/IAM-related positions
- Experience in writing Statement of Works, proposals, and other contracts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, Salesforce or other CRM technology
- IAM technology-specific training/certification is preferred.
- Requirements:
- Possess strong communication, storytelling and keen research skills.
- Knowledge of contractual language, legal agreements, terms and conditions, policies, and terminology
- Adept at conveying complex ideas in simple, persuasive language.
- Experience working in a team setting and multi-task environment
- Manage large workloads and meet critical deadlines.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, quality, and unified style based on company and industry standards and processes
- Navigate and build relationships with immediate team and peers.
- Work well under supervision and following standard processes unsupervised, encouraging considerate and productive atmosphere.
- Travel: Minimal and on occasion as required; l0% or less.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, English or related field preferred. Will consider prior experience and education.
