The Project Manager will manage robotic automation project execution, including planning, engineering, resources, contract, communication, and financial control, from receipt of the PO through buy-off and close-out; the scope of projects includes customized FANUC product and/or integrated engineered solutions. The Project Manager will ensure projects are delivered on time and within (or under) budget, while putting a primary focus on customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused problem solver who has a talent for leading people and the ability to effectively motivate and guide cross-functional teams, with proven experience establishing and achieving project objectives through successful and efficient negotiation and organizational skills.
How It’s Done
- Manage, direct, and lead project team members including but not limited to design engineering, process engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, installation engineering and sub-contractors to ensure on-time and accurate orders that meet customer requirements.
- Hold responsibility for profit, cash flow, on-time delivery and quality of assigned projects.
- Develop schedule, resource plan, procurement plan for projects ranging from custom configured standard product to large scale automated systems; and ensure the project plan is followed.
- Forecast project financial performance.
- Track and manage financials of the project including budget management, revenue management, invoice management, change order management, procurement management, and payment assurance.
- Manage costs and ensure cash flow accuracy for improved project profitability.
- Ensure efficient, consistent, and clear communication between the team at FANUC, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist internal and external customers with product configuration and deliver expert guidance on products and systems, including robot hardware and software, machine vision, and system safety.
- Ensure execution excellence through issue recognition/resolution and planning/control of resources (internal and external) for improved customer satisfaction and quality.
- Manage customer interactions, expectations, and modes of operation through completion of the project/contract scope.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.) discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum five years in the automation and/or robotics industry.
- Prior experience in project/program management including leading cross-functional project personnel and project planning and scheduling, customer management, financial and cost management, project reporting, and change management preferred.
- Experience with MS Office Suite and ERP system.
