The ideal candidate will have spent the majority of their career working within Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) environments, leading cross-functional projects with hospitals, health systems, or large physician groups.
This is a consulting role requiring strong project management skills, strategic leadership, and deep operational knowledge of revenue cycle processes from patient access through collections.Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management of Revenue Cycle initiatives (Patient Access, Billing, Collections, Cash Posting, Denials Management, etc.)
- Coordinate stakeholders across operational, financial, and IT teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify opportunities to optimize revenue cycle processes and recommend strategic improvements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and gap assessments.
- Provide status updates, executive summaries, and post-project evaluation reports to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards.
- Minimum 7+ years of direct experience in Revenue Cycle Management (required).
- Prior experience as a Project Manager leading revenue cycle projects in hospitals, health systems, or medical groups.
- Strong understanding of front-end and back-end RCM functions.
- PMP certification preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work independently in a consulting environment.
- Experience with Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other EHR systems.
- Lean Six Sigma or Process Improvement background.
- Previous experience advising CFOs, Revenue Cycle Directors, or hospital executive leadership.
- Competitive hourly consulting rate based on experience.
