About the team

Stripe is growing fast, and our operations need to scale with it. We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and help drive operational and organizational change while supporting a variety of run-the-business processes.

What you’ll do

This is a newly-created role reporting to the head of People Operations. In this role, you will lead multiple concurrent projects and initiatives of varying complexity in service of the team’s key objectives and critical deliverables. Some projects you’ll manage end-to-end, while on others, you’ll represent our team as part of a broader working group. Some projects will have long timelines, while others will require a quick and efficient turnaround. Every day, you’ll utilize your superpowers of organization, detail orientation, relationship building and influencing, and the ability to flex up into strategy and down into tactics to drive impact. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Stripe’s ongoing HR transformation and bring a high level of craft and beauty to your role as Project Manager on the People Operations team.

Responsibilities
  • Tackle hard, ambiguous questions with rigor and independence, owning projects from problem definition to final recommendation.
  • Develop and implement project plans, optimize workflows and ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, programs, and process improvements
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance, ensuring that all project activities, decisions, and key milestones align with team standards and best practices.
  • Prepare materials to present to leadership, internal and external stakeholders, and users as needed.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the People Ops team.
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements
  • Have 7+ years of experience in project management, business operations, strategy,  or consulting, with at least 2 years operating within an HR team at a large or scaling company.
  • A proven track record of navigating complexity and driving results with a balance of urgency and thoughtfulness.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration abilities and a proven track record of building trust and driving alignment across teams, including People teams, Systems, Finance, Legal, and leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset aimed at informing decision making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, gSuite), key concepts (e.g., scoping, requirements, testing), and multiple methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall, scrum)
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with change management frameworks (e.g. Prosci ADKAR® Model)
  • Experience building and deploying enablement and training materials
  • Experience across HR systems (e.g. Salesforce, Workday, Greenhouse, Retool)
  • Experience working with AI tools to increase productivity
