The Project Management Office, Leader role involves direct and indirect leadership of project managers and other departmental roles, and oversees development and implementation of project portfolios of both related and unrelated groups of projects and process improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, (other duties may be assigned):
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new teammate onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities. Empower teammates to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability. Provide regular feedback on performance.
- Maintain teammate work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off, telecommuting and cover for absenteeism. Allocate resources and monitor deliverables to ensure customer needs are met successfully and in a timely fashion.
- Develop and implement portfolio management tools and templates to improve and enhance the project life cycle at a portfolio and project level.
- Establish framework for strategic portfolio planning in partnership with other portfolio leaders, coordinate the planning and initiation of portfolios at various levels of progress and develop criteria for portfolio evaluation and proposals.
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques and utilize them to provide mentorship and/or direct leadership to teammates and support build-out of best practices within the PMO.
- Provide leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Ensure that business objectives and key success metrics are being met.
- Collaborate with business-side managers and portfolio and project stakeholders to ensure their input is accounted for and managed within projects.
- Relationship Leader with IS/IT teams, insurance carriers, vendors, and business divisions to achieve portfolio objectives.
- Track portfolio progress through dashboards, reporting, project schedules, budgets (as necessary), and other reporting mechanisms.
- Report portfolio and project status to Executive Leadership, Department Management, Project Management, and Business Management and partner with them to clear any obstacles to project, program or portfolio progress.
- Utilize and maintain PMO / IS Project Management tools and techniques throughout the life cycle of projects (Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, Survey tools, etc).
- Partner with internal and external Functional Managers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Release Management, Tech Support, Underwriting, Compliance and other functional Insurance Departments to ensure the implementation of insurance programs according to the company's thresholds of time, budget, quality and regulatory standards.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES AND REGISTRATION
- Required:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Insurance industry experience (3-5 years)
- Preferred:
- Lean / Six Sigma Certifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and / or Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM)
- Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
Pay Range
125K - 135K AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
